Winter's Discontent

Enough already

Another!
Cold and windy day
Unpleasant in the extreme
Even if the sun is shining
But bringing no
Warmth
Upon the cold
Snow clad earth

I sat
Morosely at my window
Watching the drifts of snow
Grow
Clouds of white ice
Crystals
Slithering over the banks
Chilling the day
Robbing
The joy

Go Away
Awful weather
Let winter abate a day or two or three
But no
Says the weatherman
Tomorrow
More of the same

  1. I know you will make the most of the snowbound situation--time to paint? Time to get some great shots w/camera--light effects must be amazing...

We rejoice around here if it might actually snow--it's gray & cold, but the sun's getting stronger already, imagine that. Mardi Gras is coming & the narcissus is thinking about blooming, too.

I'm cleaning out the garage to
make a sorta studio. Lots of art supplies going to waste around here. Have Fun!

  2. The garage to studio transformation sounds wonderful. I must admit to a bit of marking time of late. But it has allowed me to marshal my forces get re-inspired.

I used to get upset with my "down time" but have come to realize I am doing a lot of meditation on projects and direction in such times.
