Remembering History

Been talking a lot of late about history with others in my neighborhood of my age who are rallied by the Barack Obama campaign to get active again in politics. A lot of the campaign workers are young and there are lots of questions about their feelings and they question our past too. What was it like when we were fighting against Vietnam, etc.

A friend of mine just posted the following YouTube video. I was impressed. And want to pass it on in these closing days of the campaign when we are all tired of campaign rhetoric.

  1. This is a very powerful presentation and is worth watching every moment of its ten minute length!

I feel this is what our country should do...immediately...return to the tenets of our Constitution!

Our forefathers never intended our role be one of policemen of the world. It is past time for this country to take care of its own problems.

  2. Yes, it is difficult to export democracy when you don't have it to give. We should definitely work harder at keeping democracy at home. But then I think it is key to remember history. Which means reading - something the current administration does not do.
